Hi my name is Joely and today at school we had french first period. At french we had a spelling test and we did dpa. After french we had language and we started making dot jots/rough copy's of letters we are mailing to the Olympic athlete of our choice ( totally cool ). After lunch we had silent reading (omg I'm reading catching fire it is amazing!!!!!!!!).next we had math and the grade 6's learned how to find the area of a triangle, After math we had art ( my favourite subject ) and we did mandalas of what the 2010 winter Olympics meant to us i did a Canadian flag and the maple leaf said Vancouver 2010 winter Olympic games with that outlining the whole flag. everybodys mandalas looks cool. now well i am writing this blog everybody is cleaning up the classroom for parent teacher interviews. and then we will probably do agendas so we don't forget our homework and then get ready to go home and leave for the weekend (tomorrows a P.A day yeah)

Hello

Hi it is Brandon here and I have come to talk about three days, Wednesday, Thursday and Today:Friday. Wednesday most of the grade 6s were gone playing hockey and the grade 5s stayed and did math and Art. On Thursday we all did our science projects. The grade 5s did changes in matter experiments and the grade 6s did electricity projects. Most of the grade 6's made electrical cars. On Friday we had the Chine Drive Olympics. Our class did curling. We also had art making mandala's, they look like regular circles and since it was the Olympics we drew Olympic things. At the end of the day the grade 5's made structures with Marshmallows and the grade 6's made paper airplanes.

What the Chewbacca's did today

Dear all Mothers, aunts, uncles, Han Solo's, Luke Skywalkers, and Chewbacca's (kids)
Today the Chewbacca's did french we learned how ants cut stuff and do amazing things. The Chewbacca's were amazed. After french we went to reading buddies but they were drawing pictures of the scary humans. (they really drew pictures of monsters)
then after recess we went for the lab. At the lab the chewbacc's did some science project about the amazing matter. We learned about the 2 million Olympics ( 2010 Olympics). We went for lunch it felt great going into space (outside). Then after lunch we had band and strings it was good. We had math it was awesome we learned about the Venn diagrams it was cool like cool. Then Chewbacca's had their math test handed back. Then we had the recess the meteors were falling (snow). The space looked cool like cool. After the recess we had science it was cool that is all for today.

Today we went to French and language. In language we had lots of fun(sarcasm) grade 6's did their EQAO language booklet and grade 5's did CASI, which is basically reading a story that is usually a page and a half and then you summarize it and some other stuff. After recess had more language (boooooo!) and then we had lunch, after lunch we had silent reading then math after math we had gym, gym we did a lot of things such as.......we started with warm ups then we did ten tasks as a group and those tasks were like going to each corner and doing a few sit ups and then running around the gym. Our new student teacher Ms. Easton taught the gym class. We also got in our same groups and made a dance. After gym we had Science. In science we are inventing things like cars powered by electricity.

Now this day is a day that I want to say YYYYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!

Science Project

Hello people. Yesterday we found out we are going to start a science project. For the project we are supposed to create a electrical machine of our choice. I'm partnered with Max and we are going to try to build a battery powered car hopefully it is going to work. I think this project is going to be AWESOME! Hopefully we can figure out how to build it. The grade fives are experimenting on changes in mater.

What we did for the last 3 days

For the last three days, we were presenting our speeches, two grade 6's and one grade 5 will move on to the Chine competition. We started our literature circles on Monday and most groups are reading about 50 pages in their books. I think that the book that I'm reading for literature circles is really good, it's called The Mealworm Diares. We got to skip math today, and we did art instead. In the morning we did EQAO practise and literature circles.

For art, we are drawing some Olympic drawings for the Olympics. Starting Friday, all of the groups will be doing a newscast covering what happened in the Olympics that have been held in the last 24 hours.

Today

Chez la Rosa, that's the name of my restaurant. In French today we all started our menus for our restaurants. My background is a big rose its very pretty and big did I mention it was big. When I first walked into the class Miss Cummings was here she was our supply for the morning. But Ms. Easton was not here today. Miss Cummings is very tall without heels on and very very very nice. First we worked on our EQAO math booklets, yuk. They may be boring but I know it will help us in the future. As recess approached I was anxious to get outside but then I remembered that I had kindie helping today that's when three people go into the kindergarten room to help out. For snack I had goldfish, you know the snack that smiles back goldfish. After recess we worked on our reading response journals. I'm reading the Spiderwick Chronicles, sooooooooo good. When you were done reading response journal you could try to memorize your speech. Adele and I are doing a Format C (a Play). Although Adele is not doing a Format A I am (normal Speech). The bell just rang for lunch gotta go.

For lunch I had soup chocolate milk, and pickled pears. When we came back to class we read for a little bit. Then we had to get our 15 question Math homework for Ms. Hall to check. After she checked everbody's work, Ms. Hall went over it because we had a math test on Friday. After math we went to gym. We played basketball, our team lost though. But it was only our first class of basketball so it was fine. Now it's recess, back to the kindergarten room.

Wed Feb 3.

Yesterday I got uo. Got to school. We had French. We went to Ms. Hall's class. We went to the library after recess and we were learning about the olympics. In the afternoon we had math, we were working on multiplication. Then we had Art we were drawing with crayons. We were drawing rondom colours over the top we drew black. The we had to use our fingernails to ah, scratch the black of to make it look like fireworks or whatever. And that's it.

on Monday we had our student teacher here and we played a new game in gym called bounce that involves us tying to shoot a basket in a hoop and if we miss the person behind us got a shot while we were trying to get a shot we were out ms. hall introduced to us that was introduced to her by the grade 7-8's in the afternoon we had math and we were shown the order of operations BEDMAS (brackets, exponents,division, multiplication, addition and subtraction). our student teacher also told us about herself the most surprising thing i leaned about her is that in her class she was the girl sports champion we also had more time to work on a media literacy project that involves making a truthful commercial about a product.
I'm Sam and this is what we did on Monday

Hi, I'm Reese today we all wore our PJ's to school. The only problem was that it was sooo cold at recess and at lunch. We also had a recognition assembly for teamwork. Four people got the award. Mrs. Hall was checking if we had finished all are work and guess what I had! Today we had band and strings at lunch my lips were in total pain. But it was fun!

3 Days of Fun

Today is Thursday, and the weather has been changing every half a hour. Snow, no snow. Snow, No Snow. Its a bit crazy. Also yesterday, part of the class had to go to a hockey game because they were on the hockey team. I'm not sure who won, but the other part of the class went to Ms.Daskalakis's class and all I did was do math. We even had French 2 times! At the end we went to the lab to work on speech arts. That's all I remember about what happened. Tomorrow is pajama day, and I hope no one will get to cold.

courts part2

On Monday, January 18th the all the 5's and 6's visited the courts and it was lots of fun! It felt like we were actually the jury. We saw several cases such as manslaughter and a traffic violation. It was very educational because we saw how there is a judge, a jury, a lawyer (prosecution or crown and defendant), people watching and the recorder in action. We learned that it takes many years as a lawyer to become a judge, and there are different types of judges depending on the case. We also did a mock trail where we played different roles of the court and in which everyone was a part of. The case was where a student was accused of bringing a knife to a dance. It was very real since everyone did a great job at their role. Now many of my classmates want to be a lawyer.

New media project

This morning we had french and I would say we all got alot of work done. We also had math and did alot of long dividing but now I know how to long divide alot better. We all talked about topics or ideas for our new media project which I am excited to do. What the project is about is pretty much taking some phony-baloney commercial and bringing out the truth. For example cereal when it says "it has lots of nutrients" we would have to make a commercial and say "it has lots of nutrients, after you add the milk." Today was a very good day and it was lots of fun.

Ski - Day!!!

When I first learned that our class was going to have a blog I thought "Great we're going to be like some of those weirdos on tv!" But its really fun.

My day to write was really Friday and Friday was ski day so Ms. Hall asked me to talk about skiday.

Ski day started off with the long slow loud bus ride. It tock about 45 minutes. When we arived at the resort a women gave us our ski ticket and sent us to the rental shop. After getting our skis and snowboards on we skied over to the leaders. We then were divided into different groups. After an hour lesson of sking down long hills. We set of by our selves. I skied with all my friends. We had a long lunch with hot choclate and cookies. After lunch we went back skiing. After another two hours of skiing we got back onto the bus. This ride the bus was quit perobably because every one was so tired, I think I even fell asleep for a minute.

On Monday, January the 18th the 5/6 class visited the courts and it was lots of fun!It was very educational and we learned how a case works. We also did a mock trial in which everyone was apart of. The judge was very friendly and we had a ball!

Fun Day

This afternoon we had math,gym and social studies.During math the grade 6's learned estimating products.In gym class we played floor hockey for an hour,it was fun.At the end of the day we did social studies on the Vikings,we had to read a few pages and then choose a person or viking place and do an illstration of what we choose.

IT'S 2010 WOW

2010 and back to school bolg people,

It's Makaela and today we started debating about Batman and Superman after French but it did not turn out so well, because we putting down the other group instead of supporting our side. So after resses were did winter break Vs. summer break. The last debate we talked about NO homework Vs. homework, by the end we learned not to stick to the bad things on the other side of the debate but the great things about your side.
